Abstract

The objective of making the system is (1) to design and to create a device for opening using smartphone based on bluetooth connection in order to make easy in opening the hood and the trunk of a car. (2) to understand the system of the opening of the hood as well as the trunk using smartphone based on bluetooth connection in industry and to the public. (3) able to implement the system design for cars produced in 70s. The method of developing the device consist of the identification’s need, the need analysis, diagram block connection, system design, steps in making the device, flowchart program, device testing and data gathering. This system use arduino uno (AT-Mega 328) for the main controller and android smartphone as the virtual input media. This device has been tested on Honda Civic First Generation built in year 1979. The hood and trunk opener use three hydraulic arms as the buffer with two motor dynamo starters. Two channel Relay modules each 5 volt and 12 volt are used. The result of the 12 volt accumulator and 9 volt regulator unloaded when the engine is off shows average error as much as 5,3% and 3,4%. As loaded shows average error as much as 5,7% and 3,7%. As unloaded and engine is on, shows average error as much as 15,58% and 3,8%. Testing on time delay of the virtual button using five types of operation of different smartphones shows the average as much as 0.15 second. The bluetooth coverage is 1 to 30 meters with or without obstacles. Testing on performance, the device runs well as the objectives and the device has 100% successful degree.
Key words: Hood and Trunk Opener, Smartphone, Motor Dynamo Starter
