Abstract

The aims of this tool are to (1) design and create a controlled household appliance using android-based Bluetooth in order to ease human activities, (2) control practically the household appliances, (3) find out the performance system of a controlled household appliance in industry or society, and (4) implement the design of a controlled household appliance system in daily activities. Thus, the development method of smart home with speech recognition through android-based Bluetooth used steps as follows: need identification, need analysis, the circuit of block diagram, system planning, tool-making procedures, flowchart program, tool testing, and data retrieval. In this study, Arduino uno microcontroller (AT Mega-328) was used as the main control, Android smartphone was used as a controlled medium of sound input through the application of speech recognition, four LED lights 220V AC were used as an output, DC motor was used as a gate driving force, and solenoid door lock used as the lock gate. The results show that the switching power supply testing has an error of 1.63% without load and 1.18% with load, the testing delay systems done by three respondents have an average response of time delay as much as 5.33 seconds, the maximum of distance range of Bluetooth can work is 1 to 10 meter with or without a barrier, the average voltage of DC motor when turning is 4.22 V, and the average output voltage of solenoid door lock is 12 V. Besides, the testing performance systems found works based on its function and aim. Moreover, in the case of alogarithm processing, this tool has 100% successful rate.
