Abstract
ABSTRAK
Penelitianinibertujuanuntuk mengetahui pengaruhpenambahan konsentrasi surfaktanterhadapteganganpermukaan dan viskositas olimesinPertamina Enduro 4 stroke SAE 20W-50.Surfaktan yang digunakan yaitu SLS(Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) dengan molaritas 0,5 M, 0,75 M, dan 1 M. Setiap molaritas surfaktan dimasukkan ke dalam oli dengan variasi konsentrasi berupa persen volume surfaktan dalam larutan yaitu 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, dan 30%. Metode yang digunakan untuk menentukan tegangan permukaan larutan adalah metode Cincin Du Nouy dan dalam menentukan viskositas larutan menggunakanViskometer Redwood. Hasil penelitian oli mesin Enduro 4 Stroke murni pada 27oC memiliki nilai tegangan permukaan (11,8 ± 0,0) N/m dan nilai viskositas (6528,65 ± 270,11) Poise. Pengaruh penambahan konsentrasi surfaktan ke dalam oli akan cenderung menurunkan nilai tegangan permukaan oli. Kenaikan nilai tegangan permukaan tertinggi, teruji pada molaritassurfaktan 1 M dengan konsentrasi 2%V yaitu (12,3 ± 0,2) N/m. Sedangkan pengaruh penambahan konsentrasi surfaktan ke dalam oli, akan cenderung menurunkan nilai viskositas oli. Kenaikan nilai viskositas tertinggi, teruji pada penambahan molaritas surfaktan 0,75 M dengan konsentrasi 10%V yaitu (10643,97 ± 360,29) Poise.

ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the effect of adding a surfactant concentration to the surface tension and viscocity of the Pertamina Enduro 4 Stroke engine oil SAE 20W-50.The surfactant used was SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) with molarity of 0.5 M, 0.75 M, and 1 M. Each surfactant molarity was introduced into the oil with concentration variation in the percent volume of surfactant in solution, this concentration used was 2%, 4%, 6 %, 8%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, and 30%. The method used to determine the surface tension of the solution is the Du Nouy Ring method and in determining the viscosity of the solution is using the Redwood Viskometer.The results of the experiment of enduro 4 stroke engine oil at 27oC have surface tension value (11,8 ± 0,0) N/m and viscosity value is (6528,65 ± 270,11) Poise. The effect of adding surfactant concentration to the oil will tend to decrease the oil surface tension value. The highest increase in surface tension value, tested on molarity of surfactant 1 M with concentration 2% V (12,3 ± 0,2) N/m. While the effect of adding the concentration of surfactant into the oil, will tend to decrease the oil viscosity value. The highest increase of viscosity value, tested on the addition of surfactant molarity of 0,75 M with a concentration of 10% V (10643,97 ± 360,29) Poise.
