Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) pengaruh kemampuan manajerial
kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja guru di SMP Negeri se-Kabupaten Sleman; (2) pengaruh
pemberian kompensasi non finansial terhadap kinerja guru di SMP Negeri se-Kabupaten
Sleman; dan (3) pengaruh kemampuan manajerial kepala sekolah dan pemberian
kompensasi non finansial secara bersama-sama terhadap kinerja guru di SMP Negeri se-
Kabupaten Sleman. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasi dengan pendekatan
kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian adalah 1027 orang guru yang mengajar di 54 SMP Negeri
se-Kabupaten Sleman. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan proportionate
simple random sampling, dengan sampel terpilih sebanyak 91 orang guru yang berasal
dari 37 SMP. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan hasil data tersebut
dianalisis dengan perhitungan regresi sederhana dan regresi ganda. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan: (1) kemampuan manajerial kepala sekolah mempunyai pengaruh positif
dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru SMP Negeri se-Kabupaten Sleman, dengan
sumbangan efektif sebesar 38,1%; (2) pemberian kompensasi non finansial mempunyai
pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru SMP Negeri se-Kabupaten Sleman
dengan sumbangan efektif sebesar 18,6%; dan (3) pengaruh kemampuan manajerial
kepala sekolah dan kompensasi non finansial secara simultan mempunyai pengaruh
positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru SMP Negeri se-Kabupaten Sleman dengan
koefisien determinasi sebesar 56,7%.

THE EFFECT OF PRINCIPAL MANAGERIAL SKILL AND NON-FINANCIAL
COMPENSATION TO THE HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS PERFORMANCE
IN SLEMAN REGENCY
Abstract
This study aims to examine: (1) the effect of principal managerial skill to the
Junior high school teachers performance in Sleman regency; (2) the effect of nonfinancial
compensation to the junior High School teachers performance in Sleman
regency; and (3) the effect of principal managerial skill and non-financial compensation
jointly to the junior high School teachers performance in Sleman regency. This is a
correlation with quantitative approach research. Population of this study is 1027
teachers who teach in 54 Sleman regency junior High School. Sampling method is using, proportionate simple random sampling, with 91 selected teachers samples from 37
junior high School. Data collection techniques using questionnaire and the data results
were analyzed with simple and multiple regression calculation. The results showed: (1)
the principal managerial skill has a positive and significant effect to the Junior high
school teachers performance in Sleman regency with 38.1% effective contribution; (2)
non-financial compensation has a positive and significant effect to the junior High School
teachers performance in Sleman regency with 18.6% effective contribution; and (3)
principal managerial skills and non-financial compensation simultaneously has a positive
and significant effect to the junior High School teachers performance in Sleman regency
with 56, 7% determination coefficient
