PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS MELALUI METODE SOCRATES

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis melalui metode Socrates pada siswa kelas X Jurusan Teknik Gambar dan Bangunan 3 di SMK N 2 Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Pemberian tindakan diberikan sebanyak dua siklus dengan dua kali tindakan setiap siklusnya. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 30 siswa kelas X Jurusan Teknik Gambar dan Bangunan. Alat pengumpul data utama dalam penelitian ini adalah skala dan alat pengumpul data pendukung berupa observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa metode Socrates dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Hal tersebut terbukti dengan hasil rata-rata skor skala kemampuan berpikir kritis pada saat pra tindakan sebesar 49,2%, pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 71,4% dan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 76,7%.

Abstract
This research is aimed to improve critical thinking skills through method of Socrates to Grade X Students of Architecture in SMK N 2 Yogyakarta. The type of this study was action research. Subject of the research consisted of 30 students in the tenth grade of Architecture in SMK N 2 Yogyakarta. Then, this research was conducted collaboratively with the teacher of guidance and counseling. There were two cycles applied in this research that two actions were conducted in each cycle. The research instruments used to collect the main data was scale and to collect the support data were observation and interview. The result of this research indicated that Socrates method can improve the students’ crtitical thinking skills. In pre-action, the scale of mean score from the students’ critical thinking skills was 49,2% . After cycle 1 was conducted, the scale of mean score was improved to be 71,4% while in cycle 2 the scale of mean score was improved higher to be 76,7%.
