PENGARUH KECEMASAN BERTANDING TERHADAP PEAK PERFORMANCE PADA ATLET SOFTBALL UNIVERSITAS NEGERI YOGYAKARTA

Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan permasalahan mengenai kecemasan bertanding yang terjadi pada atlet softball UNY. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecemasan bertanding terhadap peak performance pada atlet softball Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis korelasi sebab-akibat. Subyek dalam penelitian ini menggunakan purposive sampling sejumlah 34 atlet. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah skala kecemasan bertanding dan skala peak perfomance. Uji validitas instrumen menggunakan validitas isi melalui expert judgement, Sedangkan realibilitas menggunakan formula Alpha Cronbach dengan koefisien alpha sebesar 0,974 pada skala kecemasan bertanding dan 0,986 pada skala peak performance. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis regresi sederhana dengan SPSS versi 21.00 For Windows. Hasil penelitian  ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh antara kecemasan bertanding terhadap peak performance (koefisien regresi sebesar -0,758 dan nilai signifikasi sebesar 0,000). Hal ini berarti bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat kecemasan bertanding maka semakin rendah tingkat peak performance pada atlet. Kontribusi yang diberikan kecemasan bertanding terhadap peak performance sebesar 46,3% sedangkan 53,7% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain.

Abstract

This research based on competition anxiety problems that occurs in softball athletes Yogyakarta State University. The aim of this research is to know the influence of competition anxiety to peak performance of softball athletes at Yogyakarta State University. This research is using quantitative approach with causal corelation analysis. The subject of this research using purposive sampling consist of 34 softball athletes from Yogyakarta State University. This research instrument is using the scale of competition anxiety and peak performance. Instrument validity test is using validity content through expert judgement, while reliability using Alpha Cronbach formula with coefficient alpha of 0,974 on competition anxiety scale and 0,986 on peak performance scale. Data analysis has use simple regression with SPSS 21.00 Windows version. The results of this research is there was influence between competition anxiety against peak performance (regression coefficient is -0,758 and significant value is 0,000). Its means that the higher of competition anxiety level also causing peak performance in lower level. The contribution of competition anxiety against peak performance is 46,3% while 53,7% influenced by other factor.
