UPAYA MENINGKATKAN SIKAP EMPATI MELALUI METODE STORYTELLING PADA SISWA SD NEGERI CATURTUNGGAL 3 DEPOK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan sikap empati melalui metode storytelling pada siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Caturtunggal 3 Depok. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Caturtunggal 3 Depok yang berjumlah 18 siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus yang terdiri dari enam tindakan yaitu cerita Kentang Ajaib, Ibu Bermata Satu, Rasulullah dan Pengemis Buta, Sepeda Motor Baru, Ibu Pemungut Beras dan Dibuang ke Hutan. Analisis data menggunakan data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sikap empati dapat ditingkatkan melalui metode storytelling. Hal ini dapat dilihat berdasarkan hasil presentase rata-rata skor pre test, post test I dan post test II yang mengalami peningkatan dari 58,89 % menjadi 74,76 % dan meningkat lagi menjadi 79,29 %. Interpretasi hasil observasi dan wawancara menunjukkan siswa telah mampu memunculkan sikap empati.

Abstract

This research aimed to improve empathy through storytelling method in fourth grade students of SD Negeri Caturtunggal 3 Depok. This research was a classroom action research with 18 students in fourth grade of SD Negeri Caturtunggal 3 Depok as its subject. The research was conducted in two cycles consisting of six actions. They were magic potato story, the one-eyed mother, the prophet and blind beggars, new motorcycle, the mother gleaner, and thrown into the woods. This research used quantitative and qualitative data in data analyzing. The result of this research showed that empathy can be improved through storytelling method. It could be seen from the average score of pre test, post test I, and post test II which is change from 58,89% to 74,76% and become 79,29% at the end. Observation and interview interpretation showed that students able to emerge the empathy.
