Abstract


ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap komitmen berorganisasi pengurus BEM FIP UNY. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian populasi dengan jumlah populasi sebanyak 92 mahasiswa pengurus BEM FIP UNY. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan skala kecerdasan emosi dan skala komitmen organisasi. Analisis data menggunakan regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) sebanyak 65 mahasiswa (71%) memiliki kecerdasan emosi dengan kategori tinggi dan 27 mahasiswa (29%) memiliki kecerdasan emosi dengan kategori sedang; (2) sebanyak 70 mahasiswa (76%) memiliki komitmen organisasi dengan kategori tinggi dan 22 mahasiswa (24%) memiliki komitmen organisasi dengan kategori sedang; (3) kecerdasan emosi berpengaruh secara positif nilai sig. sebesar 0,000 < 0,05) terhadap komitmen organisasi pengurus BEM FIP UNY dengan sumbangan efektif sebesar 53%, sehingga dapat diketahui bahwa kecerdasan emosi dapat memprediksi komitmen organisasi seseorang.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this research is to know the impacts of emotional intelligence toward the management’s organizational commitment of Students’ Representative Council in Faculty of Education at Yogyakarta State University. The research used population research with the total of population were 92 students of Students’ Representative Council in Faculty of Education at Yogyakarta State University. The data collection methods used the emotional intelligence scale and the organizational commitment scale. Data analysis technique used simple linear regression. Based on the research results, there were: (1) 65 students (71%) had high category of emotional intelligence and 27 students (29%) had moderate category of emotional intelligence; (2) 70 students (76%) had high category organizational commitment and 22 students (24%) had moderate organizational commitment; (3) the emotional intelligence had a positive (sig. value of 0.000 <0.05) toward the management’s organizational commitment of Students’ Representative Council in Faculty of Education at Yogyakarta State University with 53% effective contribution, it meant that emotional intelligence could predict to organizational commitment personally.
