KORELASI ANTARA EFEKTIVITAS KOMUNIKASI INTERPERSONAL DAN PERHATIAN ORANG TUA DENGAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA SMP

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) Mengetahui korelasi antara efektivitas komunikasi interpersonal dengan motivasi belajar, (2) Mengetahui korelasi antara perhatian orang tua dengan motivasi belajar, dan (3) Mengetahui korelasi antara efektivitas komunikasi interpersonal dan perhatian orang tua dengan motivasi belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis korelasi. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII dan IX SMP Piri Ngaglik berjumlah 138 siswa. Uji Validasi skala dengan expert judgement dan uji product moment. Uji reliabilitas menggunakan uji Alpha Cronbach, diperoleh hasil 0.859 pada skala efektivitas komunikasi interpersonal, 0.856 pada skala perhatian orang tua, dan 0.900 pada skala motivasi belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukan: (1) Terdapat korelasi positif dan signifikan antara efektivitas komunikasi interpersonal dengan motivasi belajar, diperoleh koefisien korelasi 0.389 dan sumbangan efektif sebesar 15%, (2) Terdapat korelasi positif dan signifikan antara perhatian orang tua dengan motivasi belajar siswa, diperoleh koefisien korelasi 0,461 dengan sumbangan efektif sebesar 21%, dan (3) Terdapat korelasi yang positif dan signifikan antara efektivitas komunikasi interpersonal dan perhatian orang tua dengan motivasi belajar siswa, diperoleh koefisien korelasi 0.518 dengan sumbangan efektif sebesar 26.9%.

ABSTRACK

This research is aimed to (1) Knowing about correlation between effectiveness of interpersonal communication and learning motivation, (2) Knowing about correlation between parent’s attention and learning motivation, and (3) Knowing correlation between effectiveness of interpersonal communication and parent’s attention to learning motivation. This research uses a quantitative approach with correlation. The sample in this research is students of grades VIII and IX of Junior High School Piri Ngaglik, with totally 138 students. Scale validation test with expert judgment and product moment test. The reliability test using the Cronbach Alpha test, obtained results of 0.859 on the effectiveness of interpersonal communication scale, 0.856 on the parent’s attention scale, and 0.900 on the learning motivation scale. The research showed that: (1) there was a positive and significant correlation between effectiveness of interpersonal communication and learning motivation, with coefficient correlation value is 0.389 and an effective contribution of 15%, (2) there was a positive and significant correlation between parent’s attention and student motivation with coefficient correlation is 0.461 and an effective contribution of 21%, and (3) there is a positive and significant correlation between effectiveness of interpersonal communication and parent’s attention to student motivation, with coefficient correlation 0.518 and an effective contribution of 26,9%.
