Penelitian ini dilakukan  berdasarkan permasalahan-permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh mahasiswa Bidikmisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara adversity quotient dengan penyesuaian sosial pada mahasiswa penerima beasiswa Bidikmisi Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini merupakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis korelasi. Populasi penelitian ini 240 dengan ukuran sampel 144 mahasiswa, yang diambil dengan teknik proportional random sampling. Teknik mengumpulkan data menggunakan skala. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan skala kecerdasan adversity quotient dan skala penyesuaian sosial. Uji validitas instrumen menggunakan validitas expert judgment sebagai pengujinya. Reliabilitas dengan menggunakan teknik alpha cronbach dengan nilai koefisien adversity quotient sebesar 0,839 dan koefisien penyesuaian sosial sebesar 0,869. Analisis data menggunakan teknik korelasi Pearson yang diolah dengan bantuan SPSS for Windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukan ada hubungan positif dan signifikan antara adversity quotient dengan penyesuaian sosial pada mahasiswa Bidikmisi Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan koefisien korelasi (r) sebesar 0,532 dan p=0,000 (p<0, 05) diartikan semakin tinggi adversity quotient maka semakin tinggi penyesuaian sosial dan sebaliknya. Hasil korelasi antara adversity quotient dengan penyesuaian sosial ini masuk dalam kategori sedang.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the problems faced by Bidikmisi students. This research aimed to find out the relationship between adversity quotient and social adjustment of Bidikmisi students in faculty of education Yogyakarta State University. This study used the quantitative approach with the approach used in this study is a quantitative approach with corretional research type. The population of this study was 240 students with 144 students for the sample size selected by proportional random sampling technique. Data collection technique that used is a scale. This instrument used an adversity quotient intelligence scale and a social adjustment scale. The instrument validity has been tested through expert judgment as the examiner. Reliability of the instrument is using the formula Cronbach alpha with 0.839 was found as the coofficient adversity quotient and 0.869 as the cooficient of social adjustment coefficient. Data analysis used Pearson correlation techniques using SPSS program for Windows.The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between adversity quotient and social adjustment among Bidikmisi students in Faculty of Education. This was indicated by correlation coefficient (r) of 0.532 and p = 0.000 (p <0.05) means that higher adversity quotient, there will be a higher social adjustment, and vice versa. The results of correlation between adversity quotient and social adjustment are included in medium category
