PENGARUH KECERDASAN EMOSIONAL TERHADAP KECENDERUNGAN MEMECAHKAN MASALAH PADA SISWA KELAS X MADRASAH ALIYAH NEGERI YOGYAKARTA II

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap kecenderungann memecahkan masalah siswa, (2) kecerdasan emosional siswa, (3) kecenderungan memecahkan masalah pada siswa kelas X MAN Yogyakarta II. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif jenis hubungan kausal. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X MAN Yogyakarta II. Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dengan jumlah tiga kelas. Alat pengumpul data berupa skala kecerdasan emosional dan kecenderungan memecahkan masalah. Analisis data menggunakan teknik regresi sederhana dengan nilai signifikansi 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikansi antara kecerdasan emosional terhadap kecenderungan memecahkan masalah pada siswa dengan sumbangan efektif sebesar 65,2%, (2) kecerdasan emosional siswa terkategori sedang yaitu 41 siswa (53,2%), dan (3) kecenderungan memecahkan masalah siswa terkategori sedang yaitu 57 siswa (74,03%). Persamaan garis regresinya Y = -5,491 + 0,767. Kesimpulannya kecerdasan emosional dapat memprediksi kecenderungan memecahkan masalah pada siswa.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are: 1) to identify the influence of emotional intelligence Penelitian on students’ problem solving tendencies, 2) to identify students’ emotional intelligence, 3) to identify problem solving tendencies shown by grade X students of MAN Yogyakarta II. This study applied quantitative method of casual correlation. The population of this study was grade X students of MAN Yogyakarta II. There were 3 clusters employed in this research using cluster random sampling technique. The data for this study were collected using two instruments namely the emotional intelligence scale of measurement and problem solving tendencies scale of measurement. The data analysis technique employed in this study was simple regression technique with 5% of significance points. The findings showed that: 1) there were positive correlation and significance between the emotional intelligence and problem solving tendencies shown by the students with the percentage of effective influence was 65.2%, 2) 41 (53.2%) students performed emotional intelligence in fair category, and 3) 57 (74.03%) students performed problem solving tendencies in fair category. The equation of the regression line was Y = -5,491 + 0,767. The study concludes that emotional intelligence can predict the students’ problem solving tendencies.
