EFEKTIVITAS KONSELING SEBAYA TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KOMUNIKASI INTERPERSONAL SISWA KELAS X SMA NEGERI 8 YOGYAKARTA

Penelitian ini berawal dari adanya fenomena rendahnya komunikasi interpersonal di kalangan siswa, sehingga menimbulkan keprihatinan peneliti. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengkaji seberapa jauh keefektivan layanan konseling sebaya terhadap peningkatan komunikasi interpersonal. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen dengan desain quasi experiment. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 8 Yogyakarta sebanyak 256 siswa, dengan sampel penelitian kelas X MIPA 1 sebanyak 12 siswa, 6 siswa sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan 6 siswa sebagai kelompok kontrol. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah skala. Pengujian penelitian ini menggunakan Uji Wilcoxon dan Uji Mann Whitney untuk membuktikan efektivitas konseling sebaya terhadap peningkatan komunikasi interpersonal siswa. Berdasarkan Uji Wilcoxon dan Uji Mann Whitney didapatkan hasil konseling sebaya efektif terhadap peningkatan komunikasi interpersonal (p<0,05).

 Abstract

This research started from the phenomenon in which there was a low interpersonal communication among students, therefore attracting the attention of researcher. The aim of this study was to find out the effectiveness of peer counseling on improving interpersonal communication. The approach of this study was quantitative using experimental research methods by quasi-experiment design. The population of this study was all tenth-grade students of SMA N 8 Jogjakarta which was 256 students, with 12 students of X MIPA 1 as the research samples, 6 students as an experimental group and 6 students as a control group. Data collection method in this research was scale. This study used the Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney test to prove the effectiveness of peer counseling on improving student interpersonal communication. Based on Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney test, the experiment group's that peer counseling effective to improve interpersonal communication (p<0,05).
