Abstract


The purpose of this study was designed to determine : (1) the influence of democratic parenting style on student achievement; (2) the influence of student achievement motivation on student achievement; (3) the influence of democratic parenting and achievement motivation together on student achievement; (4) donations democratic parenting and student achievement motivation together on student achievement. This research was ex-post facto. This research is a population with respondents totaling 58 students. The research instrument used in the form of questionnaires or questionnaire. The validity of the instrument using the construct validity were previously conducted expert judgment and empirical testing by Product Moment correlation, while the reliability test instrument used Cronbach alpha formula. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, analysis prerequisite test including normality test, linearity test, multicollinearity test, autocorrelation and heteroscedasticity test, and statistical tests using simple regression and multiple regression. The survey results revealed that: (1) there is a positive and significant influence parenting style democracy on student achievement, it is shown with a correlation coefficient of 0,413 and the price of Fcount 11,520 larger than Ftable 4,013 at significance level of 5%, with a coefficient of determination (r2 ) 0,171; (2) there is a positive and significant influence student achievement motivation on student achievement, this is indicated with a correlation coefficient of 0,587 and 29,458 Fcount price greater than Ftable 4,013 at significance level of 5%, with a coefficient of determination (r2) 0,345; (3) there is positive and significant influence democratic parenting and achievement motivation together on student achievement, this is indicated with a correlation coefficient of Ry (1,2) 0,590 and the value of Fcount 14,708 > 3,165 Ftable; (4) there is a democratic parenting contribution and achievement motivation together on student achievement class XI Technical Skills Competency Audio Video in SMK N 3 Yogyakarta, this is indicated by the coefficient of determination (r2) of 0,348. Effective contribution democratic parenting by 3,18%, while the effective contribution of student achievement motivation of 31,62%. So donations effectively given of 34,80%.
