IMPLEMENTASI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DI SMK BERBASIS PESANTREN SYUBBANUL WATHON TEGALREJO MAGELANG

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi, dan perilaku siswa dalam implementasi pendidikan karakter di SMK berbasis pesantren Syubbanul Wathon Tegalrejo Magelang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian evaluatif menggunakan model goal free evaluation yang dikembangkan oleh Michael Scriven. Subjek penelitian ditentukan menggunakan teknik purposive-sampling yang terdiri dari kepala sekolah, wakil kepala, guru, pengurus pesantren, orang tua dan siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, angket, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Data kualitatif berupa hasil wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi dianalisis dan diinterpretasikan dalam bentuk deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pihak sekolah dan pesantren telah melakukan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi implementasi pendidikan karakter di SMK Syubbanul Wathon dengan baik. Pelaksanaan program pendidikan karakter ditekankan untuk mengembangkan semua karakter yang tercantum dalam kurikulum, khususnya religius, mandiri, sederhana, sopan santun, dan komunikatif melalui 1) kegiatan pendidikan sekolah formal dan keagamaan di pesantren; 2) membangun kultur kehidupan pesantren yang baik. Hasil angket siswa menunjukkan bahwa 20 % siswa memiliki karakter sangat baik, dan 80 % tergolong baik. Hal ini didukung oleh hasil wawancara yang menyatakan bahwa karakter siswa secara umum sudah baik. Karakter yang terkait dengan kebersihan diri dan lingkungan, serta keterbukaan perlu ditingkatkan. Wawasan semua pihak, terutama pihak sekolah dan pesantren tentang implementasi pendidikan karakter juga perlu ditingkatkan lagi.

Abstract
This study aimed to determine the planning, implementation, evaluation, and character of students in the implementation of character education in Syubbanul Wathon Islamic Boarding Vocational High School Tegalrejo Magelang. This research was an evaluative research using goal free evaluation model developed by Michael Scriven. Research subjects were determined using purposive-sampling technique consisting of principals, vice principals, teachers, board members, parents and students. Data collection was done by interview, questionnaire, observation, and documentation. Qualitative data in the form of interviews, observation and documentation were analyzed and interpreted in descriptive form. The results showed that the school and islamic boarding have done the planning, implementation, and evaluation of character education implementation in Syubbanul Wathon Islamic Boarding Vocational High School well. Implementation of character education programs was emphasized to develop all the characters listed in the curriculum, especially religious, independent, simple, polite, and communicative through 1) formal and religious school education activities in islamic boarding; 2) built a good islamic boarding life culture. Student questionnaire results showed that 20% of students have excellent character, and 80% were good. This was supported by interview results stating that the character of students in general was good. Characters relate to personal hygiene and environment, and openness need to be improved. Insights of all parties, especially the school and Islamic Boarding management on the implementation of character education also need to be improved.
