EFFECTIVENESS  OF PROJECT BASED LEARNING MODEL ON ELECTRIC MOTOR INSTALLATION COMPETENCE IN VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) penerapan pembelajaran model Project Based Learning untuk materi Instalasi Motor Listrik ditinjau dari ranah kognitif, ranah afektif, dan ranah psikomotorik siswa kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen; dan (2) keefektifan model Project Based Learning untuk peningkatan kompetensi siswa. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen. Subjek penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas XI TIPTL A dan XI TIPTL B Program Keahlian Teknik Instalasi Pemanfaatan Tenaga Listrik SMK Batur Jaya 1 Ceper Klaten. Analisis data menggunakan Uji Mann-Withney (Uji-U). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa: (1) penerapan model Project Based Learning dapat meningkatkan kompetensi yang dicapai oleh siswa untuk materi Instalasi Motor Listrik dengan pembelajaran menggunakan model Project Based Learning ditinjau dari ranah kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik. (2) keefektifan menggunakan model Project Based Learning  pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari kelas kontrol sebesar 0,14.

Abstract

This study aimed to know: (1) the comparation of implementation of Project Based Learning model for material of Electric Motor Installation in domains of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor between control class and experimental class; and (2) the effectiveness of Project Based Learning model in order to increase student competence. This study used quasi-experimental design. The subjects were all students of class XI TIPTL A and XI TIPTL B Installation of Electrical Power Utilization Program, SMK Batur Jaya 1 Ceper, Klaten. Mann-Whitney test (U-test) analysis was used to analyze data. The result showed that: (1) the implementation the Project Based Learning model was able to improve the competence achieved by students for material of Electric Motor Installation using Project Based Learning model in domains of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. (2) the effectiveness of Project Based Learning model at experimental class is higher than control class one with a different gain value of 0,14.
