KEEFEKTIFAN METODE DISCOVERY LEARNING PADA MATA PELAJARAN DASAR DAN PENGUKURAN LISTRIK

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui: (1) perbedaan pencapaian kompetensi aspek kognitif peserta didik yang menggunakan metode Discovery Learning dengan metode konvensional; (2) perbedaan pencapaian kompetensi aspek afektif peserta didik yang menggunakan metode Discovery Learning dengan metode konvensional; dan (3) keefektifan metode Discovery Learning untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pada mata pelajaran dasar pengukuran listrik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu desain nonequivalent control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat perbedaan kompetensi aspek kognitif peserta didik yang menggunakan metode Discovery Learning dengan metode konvensional hal ini dibuktikan nilai thitung=4,920 dan p=0,000<0,05; (2) terdapat perbedaan kompetensi aspek afektif peserta didik yang menggunakan metode Discovery Learning dengan metode konvensional hal ini dibuktikan nilai thitung=3,733 dan p=0,000<0,05; dan (3) pembelajaran metode Discovery Learning lebih efektif meningkatkan kompetensi dibandingkan metode konvensional dibuktikan nilai rata-rata posttest kelompok eksperimen 76,167 dengan skor gain 0,432 termasuk kategori efektivitas sedang, sedangkan nilai rata-rata posttest kelompok kontrol 62,000 dengan skor gain 0,014 termasuk kategori efektivitas rendah.

Abstract
This study aims to determine: (1) differences in achievement of cognitive aspect competencies of learners using Discovery Learning method with conventional methods; (2) differences in the achievement of the affective aspect competencies of learners using the Discovery Learning method with conventional methods; and (3) the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning method to improve competence on basic electrical measurement subjects. This research was quasi experimental research, nonequivalent control group design. The results showed that: (1) there is a difference of competence of cognitive aspect of learners using Discovery Learning method with conventional method, this is proved by tcount=4.920 and p=0.000<0.05; (2) there is difference of competence of affective aspect of learners using Discovery Learning method with conventional method, this is proved by tcount=3.733 and p=0.000<0.05; and (3) learning of Discovery Learning method is more effective to increase competence compared to conventional method, proved by mean posttest of experiment group 76.167 with score gain 0.432 including medium effectiveness category, mean posttest of control group 62.000 with gain score 0.014 including low effectiveness category.
