THE INFLUENCE OF ROLE PLAYING METHOD TOWARD CRITICAL THINKING SKILL AND LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT STUDENT ON LEARNING EDUCATIONAL OF PANCASILA AND CIVIC EDUCATION

Abstract


The research aims to determine the effect of skill role playing method toward critical thinking and learning achievement students in learning civic education class VII at MTsN Maguwoharjo.

Type of the research is quasi-experiment. The population in this research were students of class VII MTsN Maguwoharjo Yogyakarta. The technique of  sampling used simple random sampling technique.  The result were class VII B (control class) as many as 29 students while class VII D (experiment class) as many as 28 students. Data collection techniques were test, critical thinking skill questionnaire and observation sheet. Data were analyzed by normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test. Hypotesis test using Independent Sample T-Test.

The result showed that in critical thinking skill of students were significant  at probability 0,05 seen from value Sig (2-tailed) or p value 0,001 < 0,05 and t test > t table (3,459 > 2,000) and learning achievement student were significant at probability 0,05 seen from value Sig (2-tailed) or p value 0,001 < 0,05 and t table < t arithmetic showed by 2,000 <  3,829. It means that the effect of  role playing method toward  critical thinking and learning achievement students was significant.
