Abstract
menganalisis pemeliharaan mesin jahit manual dan industri; 3) membuktikan model PBL dapat
meningkatkan kemampuan menganalisis pemeliharaan mesin jahit manual dan industri. Subyek
penelitian yaitu siswa kelas X Tata Busana 2 SMK Negeri 1 Pandak tahun ajaran 2017/2018.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang desain siklusnya menggunakan model
spiral Kemmis dan Taggart. Pembuktian validitas instrumen menggunakan validitas isi dan konstruk
serta dilakukan uji empiris. Pembuktian reliabilitas menggunakan rumus KR 20. Teknik analisis data
menggunakan analisis data deskriptif kuantitatif. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar
observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian adalah; 1) model PBL diterapkan melalui 5 tahapan;
2) model PBL mampu meningkatkan kemampuan menganalisis pemeliharaan mesin jahit manual dan
industri dari pra siklus sebesar 43.8% menjadi 72% pada siklus I dan siklus II meningkat sebesar
100%; 3) model PBL terbukti mampu meningkatkan kemampuan menganalisis pemeliharaan mesin
jahit manual dan industri.

IMPROVING THE ABILITY TO ANALYZE THE MAINTENANCE OF
MANUAL AND INDUSTRIAL SEWING MACHINES THROUGH THE
APLICATION OF THE PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING (PBL) MODEL IN
GRADE X OF FASHION DESIGN OF PUBLIC VHS 1 OF PANDAK
ABSTRACT
This study aimed to: 1) apply the PBL model; 2) improve the ability analyze the maintenance
of manual and industrial sewing machines; and 3) prove that the PBL model was capable of
improving the ability to analyze the maintenance of manual and industrial sewing machines.The
research subjects were students of Grade X of Fashion Design of Public VHS 1 of Pandak in the
2017/2018 academic year. This was a classroom action research (CAR) study using Kemis and
Taggart’s spiral model carried out in 2 cycles. The instrument validity was assessed in term of content
and construct validity through expert judgment and then an empirical test was carried out. The
reliability was assessed using the KR 20 formula. The data analysis technique was the quantitative
descriptive data analysis technique.The data were collected using observation sheets, test, and
documentation. The result of the study were as follows: 1) the PBL model was applied through 5
stages; 2) the PBL model was capable of improving the ability to analyse the maintenance of manual
and industrial sewing machines as indicated by the percentage of the improvement of student’s
learning achievement from 43.8% with a mean score of 66.66 in the pre-cycle to 72 % with a mean
score of 76.66 in cycle I. in cycle II, it improved again to 100% with a mean score of 83.13; 3) the
PBL model was proved to be capable of improving the ability to analyze the maintenance of manual
and industrial sewing machines.
