A STUDY ABOUT THE VALUES OF LOCAL WISDOM DEVELOPED BY ‘SEKAR PANDAN’ ART GALLERY TO GROW THE NASIONALISM

The purpose of this research is to reveal the local wisdom developed by ‘Sekar Pandan’ Art Gallery  to grow the nasionalism. This research is descriptive with qualitative approach. The subjects of thisresearch are the head of the art gallery, the coach of the art gallery, the member of the art gallery, Cirebon cultural observer, and thehead of arts department of Cirebon City official.The data collections are through interview, observation, and documentation.The data analysis techniques are by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions.The examination technique of data validity use cross check. The results of this researchare: 1) The values of local wisdom developed by ‘Sekar Pandan’ Art Gallery are values of  religious, responsibility, tolerance, mutual cooperation, and partiotism. The value of local wisdom directly acts as a character builder that is indirectly grow nationalism and love of regional arts. 2) The efforts of ‘Sekar Pandan’Art Gallery in developing the values of local wisdom that are, holding daily practice, preparing places and infrastructure facilities, enriching the values of local wisdom by creating new dance creations, and promotion and socialization. 3) The obstacles faced are, internal obstaclesincludingthe lesserportionof the promotion or socialization, and the infrastructure facilities that are inadequate and must be updated. While external obstacles include there are still many young generation who have not interested in joining as a member of the art gallery, the un consistent membership, the different capacity in each different members, the un supporting local government, and the lack of mask craftsmen in Cirebon.
