PKN TEACHERS OPINION ABOUT THE NATURE OF TEACHING AND SELECTION OF TEACHING METHODS IN TEMANGGUNG REGENCY JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL
Abstract
This study was aimed at investigating of opinions civics teachers about the nature of teaching and teaching methods in Temanggung regency Junior High School. This was a descriptive study using the qualitative research approach. The research subjects were purposively selected, including Civics teacher at SMPN 3 Temanggung, Civics teacher at SMPN 4 Temanggung, Civics teacher at SMPN 5 Temanggung, Civics teacher at SMPN 1 Tembarak, Civics teacher at SMPN 2 Selopampang, Civics teacher at SMPN 1 Kedu , Civics teacher at SMPN 1 Kledung, Civics teacher at SMPN 2 Kledung, Civics teacher at SMPN 1Kaloran, Civics teacher at SMPN 1 Kranggan, Civics teacher at SMPN 1 Pringsurat, and Civics teacher at SMPN 1 Tlogomulyo. The data were collected through interviews, and documentation. The data trustworthiness was enhanced by the data cross check. The data were inductively analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The research findings show that 1) 5 teachers have opinions teaching as a science, 4 teachers have opinions teaching as a skill, and 3 teachers have opinions teaching as an art 2)Civics teachers at Junior High School in Temanggung in the selection of teaching methods they consider the matter appropriate to teaching curriculum and syllabus, and considering the conditions of the students.
