THE IMPACT OF THE USING OF VALUE CLARIFICATION TECHNIQUE (VCT) TOWARDS CIVIC DISPOSITION BUILDING IN CIVICS SUBJECT FOR GRADE X OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL 1 PIYUNGAN
Abstract
The objective of this research was to find out the significant impact of the use of The Value Clarification Technique (VCT) learning method towards civic disposition in civics subject for students grade X of Senior High School 1 Piyungan.
This research was a quasi experiment.The design of the research was Pre-Test Post Test Control Group Design. The population of the research was the students of grade X of Senior High School 1 Piyungan that consisting of class XA, XB, XC, XE, and XF with the total amount of the students were 142 students. The sample of the research was taken by random sampling method, for two classes divided into two groups, they were the experiment group (class XB) that represented by 23 students, and the control group (class XB) that represented by 23 students too. The Instument used was a civic disposition questionnaire. The validity verificaton used the corelation formula of Produck Moment, the instrument reliability verification used the formula of Alpha Cronbach’s. The variabel normality verification used the verification of Shapiro walk, while homogeneity verification used Lavene verification. Last, the data analysis used T-test with the significance 5%.
The research result indicated that there was a significant impact of the VCT learning method on civic disposition in civics subject for students grade X of Senior High School 1 Piyungan. The significance of the VCT learning method impact was proved by the T-test verification done in experiment group and control group questionnaire scores. The statistic result represented that score was 3,541, bigger than of the significant level 5% = 2,015 and 1% = 2,692. Otherwise, the total sig of the statistic score was 0,001, smaller than 0,005. Thus, it could be concluded that there was a significant impact of VCT learning method on civic disposition in civics subject for grade X of Senior High School 1 Piyungan.
