EFFECTIVENESS OF TEAM ASSISTED INDIVIDUALIZATION ( TAI ) TYPE COOPERATIVE LEARNING INCREASING COOPERATION IN THE EFFORT AND LEARNING OUTCOMES IN CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION CLASS VIII IN SMP STATE 15 PURWOREJO

Abstract


This research was aimed at knowing the effectiveness of the team assisted individualization (TAI) type of cooperative learning to promote cooperation and learning outcomes in citizenship education at SMPN 15 Purworejo.

               This research is a quasi-experimental using a quantitative approach. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP 15 Purworejo totaling 192 students. The sampling technique in this study using random sampling technique, so that the sample in this researsch was class VIII C as an experimental class consisted of 32 students and were class VIII B as the control class consisted of 32 students. Methods of data collection using questionnaires and tests. Data were analyzed using t-test analysis with a significance level  5%.

      The results showed that: 1) team assisted individualization (TAI) type of cooperative learning is effective for improving cooperation Purworejo 15 junior high school students. This is evidenced from tcount on student collaboration at 4.122 and ttable on df 61 amounted to 1.997 and a significance value of 0.000 less than the significance level of 5% (0.000 <0.05). Gain score test results of 0.49 which showed effectiveness in the medium category. 2) team assisted individualization (TAI) type of cooperative learning is effective for improving student learning outcomes in citizenship education SMP 15 Purworejo. This is evidenced from t-count on student learning outcomes at 2.821 and t-table on df 61 amounted to 1.997 and a significance value of 0.006 less than the significance level of 5% (0.006 <0.05). Gain score test results of 0.38 which showed effectiveness in the medium category
