EFFECTIVENESS USING A MEDIA POSTER TO STUDENT’S INTEREST AND ACHIEVEMENT OF STUDY IN PANCASILA AND CIVIC EDUCATION

Abstract


This study aims to know: 1) effectiveness using a media poster to increase student’s interest of study in Pancasila and Civic Education class for 11st grade student at SMK Negeri 2 Depok, Sleman, 2) effectiveness using a media poster to increase student’s achievement of study in Pancasila and Civic Education class for 11st grade student at SMK Negeri 2 Depok, Sleman.

This research’s type was quasi experiment. Population of this research were all of the 11st grade student at SMK Negeri 2 Depok, Sleman with 512 students. Technique of getting sample in this research was using a random sampling in 11st Geologi Pertambangan A (GPA) class as an experiment class (31 students) and 11st Teknik Otomasi Industri (TOI) class as control class (32 students). Mechanism for getting data was using inquiry at the beginning of experiment, inquiry at the end, pretest, posttest, and documentation. Technique of the analyzing data was using t test with 5% significance.

The results showed that: 1) using a media poster in Pancasila and Civic Education class was effective for increasing student’s interest of study in 11st grade student at SMK Negeri 2 Depok. It showed that the tcount value for the student’s interest of study is 6,681 and ttable of df 54 is 4.02 and the value of 0,000 significance was smaller than the value of 5% significance (0,000<0,05). Besides that, the experiment class got Gain Score average 0,3182 that showed the effectiveness was in medium categories. 2) using a media poster in Pancasila and Civic Education class was effective for increasing student’s achievement of study in 11st grade student at SMK Negeri 2 Depok. It showed that the tcount value for student’s achievement of study was 6,065 and ttable of df 54 is 4.02 and the value of 0,000 significance was smaller than the value of 5% significance (0,000<0,05). Besides that, the experiment class got Gain Score average 0,4182 that showed the effectiveness is in medium categories.
