EFFECT OF THE USE OF MEDIA PORTFOLIO OF DEMOCRATIC ATTITUDE AND ACHIEVEMENT STUDENTS IN LEARNING EDUCATION PANCASILA AND CITIZENSHIP

Abstract


This study was aimed at explaining: 1) the effect of the use of portfolios media against the democratic attitude of class XI students in learning PPKn at SMK 3 Yogyakarta, 2) the impact of media use a portfolio on learning achievement in learning PPKn XI class at SMK 3 Yogyakarta.

This research is a quasi-experiment study with control group pre-test post-test design. The study population was all students of class XI SMK 3 Yogyakarta as many as 600 students. Samples were taken by simple random sampling, as many as two classes of XI TL2 as an experimental class (30 students) and XI TL1 as the control class (30 students). Data collection techniques in this study questionnaires and learning achievement test. Data were analyzed using the formula t test with significance level of 5% with SPSS computer series 16:00 assistant.

The results showed: 1) the effect of the use of portfolios media is more powerfull those of images media to enhance the democratic attitude of the learners. This is evidenced from the results of the t test democratic attitude of learners with tcount at 11.914 and value ttabel with df 58 at the 5% significance level of 2.00171. Tcount <ttabel, we conclude there is a significant difference between the democratic attitude of learners who use portfolios media with the use of images media. The amount of media influence can be seen on the acquisition of a portfolio gain score in the experimental class 0.786 which shows the effect in the high category, while in the control class 0.445 which shows the effect in the medium category. 2) the effect of the use of portfolios media is more powerfull those of images media to improve the achievement of learners. This is evidenced from the results of t-test post-test achievement of learners with tcount at 6.896 and value ttabel with df 58 at 5% significance level of 2.00171. Tcount <ttabel it was concluded there were significant differences between the achievements of learners who use portfolios media with the use of images media. The amount of media influence can be seen on the acquisition of a portfolio gain score 0,656 experimental class that shows the effect in the medium category, while the control class 0.457 which shows the effect in the medium category also though the value is lower.
