PPKn INTERACTIVE LEARNING METHODS AND MEDIA IN DEVELOPING NATIONALISM OF SMA N 2 BANTUL STUDENTS

Abstract


This study is aimed to know: (1) the implementation of interactive learning method and media in developing Civic Education subject which is developed in increasing students’ nationalism of SMA Negeri 2 Bantul; (2) the obstacles encountered in implementing the method and media interactive learning of Civic Education subject to develop students’ nationalism of SMA Negeri 2 Bantul; (3) the efforts done to overcome the implementation of interactive learning method and media in developing Civic Education subject study in developing students’ nationalism of SMA Negeri 2 Bantul.

 

This research is a descriptive study with qualitative approach. Determination of the study subjects is determined by purposive. The study subjects are Civic Education teachers of SMA Negeri 2 Bantul which are 3 people in total. Data collecting technique usage are observation, interview, and documentation which its validity is checked through triangulation.

 

The results showed that: Firstly, the implementation of interactive learning strategies in developing Civic Education subject which is developed in increasing students’ nationalism of SMA Negeri 2 Bantul has been done through discussion and interview methods; the comprehensions’ improvement of nationalism is done through media such as PowerPoint and videos instructional technology. Secondly, the obstacles encountered in implementing the interactive learning strategies of Civic Education subject to develop students’ nationalism of SMA Negeri 2 Bantul are classified into two, which are internal and external. Internal obstacles are the lack of students’ interest and knowledge about nationalism, the time allocation which is not good yet, the technology advance that is not been able to be used by the students properly, the lack of teachers’ innovation and creativity to the instructional media of Civic Education subject. External obstacles are the lack of resources and learning materials of Civic Education subject in developing the nationalism and the limited of facilities for video learning media. Thirdly, the efforts in overcoming the internal obstacles are teachers attracted students’ attention by providing pictures about nationalism actualization, teachers maximized the time limitations to streamline the learning processes, and teachers developed the teaching media. While the efforts in overcoming the external obstacles are teachers gave guidance about the learning resources that should be used and gave effort to the limited school facilities to be equipped.
