HUBUNGAN ANTARA BODY IMAGE DENGAN KEPERCAYAAN DIRI SISWA KELAS X DI SMA NEGERI 2 BANTUL

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara body image dengan kepercayaan diri siswa kelas X di SMA Negeri 2 Bantul. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif korelasional. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X di SMA Negeri 2 Bantul sejumlah 142 siswa. Pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan purposive sampling, dengan populasi siswa kelas X sejumlah 246 siswa. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu skala body image dan skala kepercayaan diri. Validitas instrumen menggunakan validitas isi melalui expert judgment dan uji coba. Skor validitas skala body image bergerak dari angka 0,270 sampai dengan 0,706, sedangkan uji validitas skala kepercayaan diri bergerak dari angka 0,253 sampai 0,772. Reliabilitas skala body image dan skala kepercayaan diri diukur menggunakan analisis uji reliabilitas alpha cronbach. Nilai koefisien reliabilitas alpha (α) pada skala body image sebesar 0,733, sedangkan pada skala kepercayaan diri sebesar 0,884. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data statistik deskriptif dengan menggunakan rumus product moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif yang sangat signifikan antara body image dengan kepercayaan diri siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Bantul. Koefisien korelasi diketahui sebesar 0,217. Hal ini berarti bahwa semakin positif body image siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Bantul, maka akan semakin tinggi tingkat kepercayaan dirinya. Sebaliknya, semakin negatif body image siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Bantul maka, akan semakin rendah tingkat kepercayaan dirinya. Besarnya sumbangan body image untuk kepercayaan diri sebesar 4,71%.

Abstract

This research is aimed to prove the relationship between body image and self confidences in Senior High School State 2 of Bantul. This research is using corelational kuantitative approach. The subject of the research is 10^th grade student in Senior High School State 2 of Bantul around 142 students. The sampel taken by using purposive sampling method, from the population of 10^th grade students around 246 students. Collecting data methods that being used is body image scale and confidances scale. Instrument validation using validation of content by expert judgement and trial. Validation score of body image scale is around the number of 0,270 until 0,706, while validation test scale of confidences is around the number of 0,253 until 0,772. Reliability scale of body image and confidences scale measured by using alpha cronbach reliability test analysys. Coeficience value of alpha reliability (α) in body image scale is 0,733, while self confidences is 0,884. The research is using technic of statistika descriptive analysys data by using product moment formula. The result of research showing very signivicant positive relationship between body image and self confidences of 10th grade students in Senior High School State 2 Bantul. Coeficient of corelation known around 0,217. It means is body image of 10th grade students of Senior High School State 2 Bantul be more positive, so the self confidences will be more positive. Other wise, is body image of 10th grade Senior High School State 2 Bantul is lower, so the self confidences is lower. The contribution body image to self confidences is 4,71%.
