PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN INTERAKTIF IPS BERBASIS ADOBE FLASH CS 6 UNTUK SISWA SMPLB/B (TUNARUNGU POKOK BAHASAN USAHA MANUSIA DALAM MEMENUHI KEBUTUHAN

Abstract


This study aimed to: 1) produce Social Studies interactive learning media based on Adobe Flash Cs 6 in accordance with the needs of students with hearing impairment for the topic of Human Efforts to Satisfy Needs; 2) investigate the appropriateness of the Social Studies interactive learning media based on the assessment by a materials expert, a media expert, and a teacher; and 3) investigate the appropriateness of the Social Studies interactive learning media in terms of students’ responses, interestedness, and readability.

This was a research and development study referring to the model for research and development by Thiagarajan. The research steps were four steps called 4-D, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The data were collected by means of a questionnaire. The collected data were from the validation experts and tryout subjects. The validation experts were a materials expert, a media expert, and a Social Studies teacher, while the tryout subjects were 7 students of Grade VII of SMPLB/B Karnnamanohara, Yogyakarta. The data analysis technique was the quantitative descriptive technique.

The results of the study were as follows. 1) Appropriate Social Studies interactive learning media based on Adobe Flash Cs 6 were produced in accordance with the characteristics of Grade VII students with hearing impairment. 2) The results of the validation by the materials expert, media expert, and Social Studies teacher showed that the Social Studies interactive learning media were appropriate and very good (with a score of 28) in terms of contents/materials, good (with a score of 66) in terms of presentation, good (with a score of 15) in terms of software engineering, good (with a score of 30) in terms of visual communication, and good (with a score of 32) in terms of programming; the results of the assessment by the Social Studies teacher showed that the Social Studies interactive learning media were appropriate and good with a score of 124. 3) The students’ responses to the results of the tryout showed that the Social Studies interactive learning media were, on the average, appropriate and good with a score of 4.17. The results indicate that the developed Social Studies interactive learning media are appropriate as learning media for Grade VII of SMPLB/B.
