PENGEMBANGAN E-LEARNING BERBASIS MOODLE SEBAGAI SUMBER BELAJAR IPS SMP KELAS VII SUB-TEMA KEGIATAN EKONOMI DAN PEMANFAATAN POTENSI SUMBER DAYA ALAM

Abstract


This research and development aimed to: 1) develop Moodle-based e-learning as a Social Studies learning resource for the junior high school (JHS), and 2) investigate the appropriateness of Moodle-based e-learning as a Social Studies learning resource for JHS based on the assessment by a materials expert, a media expert, and a tryout involving Grade VII students of JHS. This was a research and development (R&D) study. The research method used the theory by Borg & Gall. The research subjects were 30 students of Grade VII of SMP Negeri 2 Magelang. The data were collected by Likert scale questionnaires for the media expert, materials expert, and students. The instrument validation was done through expert judgment. The collected data were analyzed by using Evaluation of Appropriateness and Learning Outputs (EALO). The results of the study were as follows. 1) The product of the study was Moodle-based e-learning for the sub-theme of economic activities and utilization of natural resource potentials and it was developed through several stages, i.e.: research and information collection, planning, preliminary product development, preliminary field testing, first revision, main field testing, and final product revision. 2) Moodle-based e-learning was appropriate as a Social Studies learning resource with a good category. This was indicated by the result of the validation by the materials expert with a score of 4.25 in the very good category, that by the media expert with a score of 4.08 in the good category, and that by the students’ responses in the main field testing with a score of 4 in the good category.
