PERBEDAAN KEAKTIFAN SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPS KELAS VIII MENGGUNAKAN METODE TEAM QUIZ DAN COURSE REVIEW HORAY (CRH)

Abstract


This study aimed to find out the difference in the students’ activeness in Social Studies learning in Grade VIII using the Team Quiz and Course Review Horay (CRH) methods at SMPN 4 Wates. This was a quasi-experimental study using the pretest-posttest non-equivalent multiple groups design. The sample was selected using the random sampling technique from the population comprising Grade VIII students of SMPN 4 Wates. The selected sample consisted of Grades VIII B and VIII E. The data were collected using observations and questionnaires. The instrument validity was assessed by the product moment and the reliability by Cronbach’s Alpha. The data were analyzed by the descriptive analysis technique and the questionnaire results were calculated by the Independent Samples T-test. The analysis results of the t-test for the questionnaire results showed that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. The students’ activeness in Social Studies learning in Grade VIII in experimental class 2 (CRH) was higher than that in experimental class 1 (Team Quiz). Based on the results, it could be concluded that there was a significant difference in the students’ activeness in Social Studies learning in Grade VIII using the Team Quiz and CRH methods at SMPN 4 Wates.
