PENGEMBANGAN MULTIMEDIA INTERAKTIF MENGGUNAKAN PROGRAM ADOBE FLASH PROFESIONAL CS 5 DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPS SMP KELAS VIII MATERI POKOK PERUBAHAN MASYARAKAT PADA MASA PENJAJAHAN JEPANG

Abstract


This study aims to: 1) produce interactive learning multimedia using the Adobe Flash Professional CS 5 for Social Studies learning in Grade VIII of the junior high school (JHS) for the topic of social changes during the Japanese occupation, and 2) find out the appropriateness of the interactive learning multimedia using the Adobe Flash Professional CS 5 for Social Studies learning in Grade VIII of JHS for the topic of social changes during the Japanese occupation. This was a research and development (R&D) study referring to the development model by Sugiyono. The research subjects were Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Bantul with a total of 25 students. The data collecting instruments were validation sheets for a media expert, a materials expert, and a teacher, and an assessment sheet for students. The data analysis technique was the descriptive technique with the quantitative approach using score distribution and assessment scale categories. The results of the study were as follows. 1) The product was interactive learning multimedia using the Adobe Flash Professional CS 5 for Social Studies learning in Grade VIII of JHS for the topic of social changes during the Japanese occupation. 2) The interactive learning multimedia using the Adobe Flash Professional CS 5 was appropriate with the following final results: a) based on the materials expert’s validation, it attained 4.00, which was good; b) based on the media expert’s validation, it attained 4.25, which was very good; c) based on the teacher’s validation, it attained 4.45, which was very good; d) based on the product (small-group) tryout, it attained a mean score of 4.31, which was very good; and e) based on the application (large-group) tryout, it attained a mean score of 4.41, which was very good. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the interactive learning multimedia for the topic of social changes during the Japanese occupation multimedia is appropriate and can be used as learning media.
