PENGEMBANGAN MODUL PEMBELAJARAN IPS DENGAN TEMA PENYIMPANGAN SOSIAL DI KALANGAN MASYAKARAT TANAH AIR SEBAGAI BAHAN AJAR SISWA SMP KELAS VIII

Abstract


This study aimed to : 1) develop a Social Studies learning module for the theme of
“Social Deviations among Communities in the Country”, and 2) investigate the
appropriateness of the module for the theme of “Social Deviations among Communities in
the Country” as learning materials for Social Studies learning.
This was research and development (R&D) study. The stages in the development were
problem identification, data collection, product design, design validation by a materials
expert, a media exprert, and Social Studies teacher, small-scale and field tryouts, revision,
and mass production. The data were collected through a questionnaire. They were analyzed
by means of the quantitative descriptive technique using a distribution of five scales.

The results of the study were as follows. 1) The Social Studies module was developed
by identifying potensials and problem, collecting data, determining the product to develop,
analizing module needs, writing the module draft, and conducting validation, tryouts, and
revision so that the module was produced as learning materials. 2) The module was
appropriate as Social Studies learning materials with a very good category. This was
indicated by the results of the validation by the materials expert with a score of 32.27 and a
mean of 4.03 with a good category, the validation by the media score with a score of 46,41
and a mean of 4,64 with a very good category, the assessment by the Social Studies teacher
with a score of 20.10 and a mean of 4.02 with good category, the small scale tryout involving
the students with a score of 31.11 and a mean of 4,44 with a very good category, and the field
tryout involving the students with a score of 28.89 and a mean of 4.27 with a very goos
category.
