EFEKTIVITAS METODE INDEX CARD MATCH DAN METODE CERAMAH TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR IPS KELAS VII DI SMP NEGERI 2 GODEAN
Abstract
students of SMP Negeri 2 Godean. This was a quasi-experimental study using the Pretest-Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research population comprised all grades VII of SMP Negeri 2 Godean. The sample consisted of Grade VII C as the experimental class and Grade VII A as the control class. The sample was selected using the random sampling technique. The data were collected through tests. Multiple choice objective tests collected them. The instruments were validated by Product Moment and reliability by Cronbach’s Alpha. The hypothesis was tested by the t-test (Independent Sample T-Test). The effectiveness was measured by Cohen D effect size. The result of the study showed that the Index Card Match was more effective than the lecture method. This was proved by the hypothesis testing for the posttest data with observed> ttable (5,117 > 1,999) and the significance value of the posttest, namely sig (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05. The Learning Outcomes of Social Studies using the Index Card Match method were higher than those using the lecture method. This was indicated by the posttest mean score of the experimental class which was 89,31. Meanwhile, the posttest mean score of the control class was 79,78. The effectiveness of Social Studies learning through the application of the Index Card Match was high.
