MAKNA PENGEMBANGAN PROFESI BAGI GURU PENJAS SEKOLAH DASAR DI YOGYAKARTA

Dewasa ini masih banyak guru yang belum optimal dalam melakukan
pengembangan profesi. Ada banyak hal yang menyebabkan hal tersebut terjadi. Salah satunya
adalah kegiatan tersebut belum sepenuhnya bermakna bagi profesi mereka. Oleh karena itu
penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui makna dari pengembangan profesi yang selama ini
diikuti oleh guru penjas SD di Yogyakarta. Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif
dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Partisipan dari penelitian ini adalah guru penjas SD di
Yogyakarta yang berjumlah 10 orang. Teknik pengambilan datanya dengan wawancara
mendalam-terbuka (open-ended). Disini, peneliti menggunakan panduan wawancara terbuka,
yang sudah divalidasi oleh ahli (expert judgement). Teknik analisis data yang digunakan
dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik analisis melalui pendekatan fenomenologi. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan bahwa makna pengembangan profesi bagi guru penjas Sekolah Dasar di
Yogyakarta yaitu; (1) mengembangkan keterampilan mengajar, (2) mengembangkan
kreativitas, (3) mengembangkan jaringan sosial, dan (4) memberi manfaat bagi guru.

Abstract
Today there are many teachers who have not been optimal in doing
professional development. There are many things that cause this to happen. One of
them is that there is no entirely meaningful activity for their profession. Therefore,
this study aims in figuring out the significance of professional development that has
been done by the physical education teachers at the elementary schools in
Yogyakarta. This study was a qualitative research with phenomenological approach.
The research samples were the physical education teachers in elementary schools in
Yogyakarta with the total of 10 teachers. The data collection was done with in-depth
interviews-open (open-ended). Here, the researcher used the open interview
guidance, which had been validated by experts (expert judgment). The data analysis
techniques employed the analysis techniques through a phenomenological approach.
The results show that the significance of professional development for the physical
education teachers in elementary schools in Yogyakarta namely; (1) developing the
teaching skills, (2) developing the creativity, (3) developing the social networks, and
(4) providing benefits for teachers.
