PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS CERITA PENDEK DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS PENGALAMAN PADA SISWA KELAS X SMA

Abstract


This research aimed to describe the process and outcomes of learning to
write short stories in class X SMA using experiential learning model.  This
research was in the form of classroom action research. The subject of this research
were X.E SMA Negeri 1 Piyungan with 24 students. The research focused on
improving the process and the outcomes writing short stories using experiential
learning model. The research was conducted in two cycles, in each cycle there are
four components:  planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data
obtained through the test writing short stories, observations, interviews, field
notes, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used, namely
descriptive statistics and descriptive qualitative.  
The result showed an increase in the learning process, the student become
more activities, students are more confident when expressing opinions, students
more focus when teacher gives the material, and students are more enthusiastic
when given an assignment to write a short story by using experiential learning
model. Improvement products can be seen from the short story writing pre-action
to cycle II. The acquisition value of the pre-action is 60.74; while in the first cycle
is 70.19 which showed an increase of 9.45 points. The second cycle of the average
value obtained was 80.37 which showed again an increase compared to previous
stages is 10.18 points. Based on the description can be concluded that the model
of experiential learning can improve the skill to write short stories in class X.E
SMA Negeri 1 Piyungan.
