Abstract



The research aimed: (1) to examine differences of ability in writing drama
script  between students who learning use  reviewing a film strategy and without
reviewing a film strategy, (2) to examine the effectiveness  of  reviewing a film
strategy in writing drama script  skill  for XI grade students of SMA Negeri 2
Klaten.
The method of this research is experiment used pretest and posttest control
group design. There are two variables in this research, there are reviewing a film
strategy  as  the independent variable and the writing drama script skill as the
dependent variable. Population in this research is students of XI grade in SMA
Negeri 2 Klaten. Determination of the sample using simple random sampling
technique. The sampel in this research is a class XI MIPA 3  students as an
experimental group and class XI MIPA 4 students as a control group. The data
collection used test, it is drama script writing test. The instrument validity is used
by contens validity with consultancy of expert judgement. Data analysis used  t-
test statistic.
The results of this research showed that firstly, there is significant different
ability in writing drama script between students who learning use reviewing a film
strategy with students who learning without reviewing a film strategy. Analysis of
the t-test posttest control group and experiment group  obtained  3,097  (3,097 >
1,997) and P value 0,05 (P = 0,003 < 0,05). Secondly, reviewing a film strategy is
effective proved in writing drama script learning process for XI grade students of
SMA Negeri 2 Klaten. The result of t-test pretest and posttest of experiment group
obtained 8,848  (8,848 > 2,036) and P value 0,05 (P = 0,000 < 0,05). Gain score
control group is 1,82, while gain score experiment group is 3,67.
