KEEFEKTIFAN STRATEGI PEMBELAJARAN ROLE-AUDIENCE- FORMAT-TOPIC (RAFT) DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MENULIS BERITA PADA SISWA KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 3 PAJANGAN BANTUL

Abstract


The research aimed: (1) to examine the significant of differences writing
report skills between students who learning use RAFT strategy and without RAFT
strategy. (2) To examine the effectiveness of RAFT strategy in writing report.  
This research used quantitative research with method of experiment research.
Design of this research used pre-test and post-test control group design. There are two
variables in this research;  they are free variable and bound variable. Free variable is
form of learning RAFT strategy and  bound variable is writing report skills.
Population in this research is students of eight grades in SMP N 3 Pajangan Bantul.
Sample is taken by technique of cluster random sampling. It can be taken the
conclusion that VIII B class as an experimental group and VIII C class as a control
group. The data collection used test, it is writing report test. The instrument validity is
used by contents validity with consultancy of expert judgment. Data analysis use t-
test statistic with degree of 5% significant. Requirements analysis test used normality
test and homogenity test.  
The results of this research are: (1) there are differences significant of writing
report skills between students who learning used RAFT strategy and without RAFT
strategy.(2) Learning of RAFT strategy is  effective in learning writing report. This
result is shown by correlations between t-test and gain score as an experimental
group. Calculations of data t-test are pre-test and post-test experimental group. The
result of t-test is data pre-test and post-test as an experimental group is obtained that
t-test value are -5.287 with df 29 and p value 0.000 (p<0.05). The average of
experimental group is increase 6.03, meanwhile the average of control group just
increase 2.60.
