PENGELOLAAN KEGIATAN EKSTRAKURIKULER PENULISAN SASTRA KOPISAJI DI SMA NEGERI 1 WONOSARI

Abstract


This study aimed to describe the management of extracurricular activity of
Kopisaji  literary writing  at  SMA N 1 Wonosari  which include the extracurricular
activity management system,  the guiding process, the production process of the
student literary works, the  supporting  factors  and  barriers of the activity  and  the
impacts of the extracurricular activity.
This research was a qualitative descriptive study, with the subject of research
were  students,  the  extracurricular  supervisors,  the  principals,  the  Indonesian
teachers, the coordinator  teachers, and  the alumni  involved  in this extracurricular
activity at  SMA N 1 Wonosari.  The data were collected through observations,
interviews,  and documentation.  The data validity was achieved by establishing
validity through observation perseverance and triangulation. The data gained from
the observation,  interviews, and the documentations were analyzed by applying
qualitative data analysis  technique. The result of the qualitative data analysis was
then concluded in accordance with the research problems.
The results showed that: (1) Kopisaji was an extracurricular activity as well
as a Student Activity Forum at SMAN 1 Wonosari to accommodate the interest of
the students in the field of literature, which is  organized independently under  the
student organization and the  vice  principals  of student affairs, (2) The  guiding
process  in  Kopisaji  was  done by the  extracurricular  supervisors  based on the
syllabus and extracurricular activity plans. Kopisaji  took  two periods of guidance.
The activities in the period 2007-2010 includes the appreciation, writing, and literary
performances; in the period 2011 until now focused on writing literature include the
introduction of the literary arts, the practice of writing, and  work publication, (3)
Production of literary works by Kopisaji form of books have been published six times.
The publishing process was done collectively by students and supervisor. (4) The
supporting  factors of Kopisaji extracurricular activities  include financial assistance
from schools,  school facilities, libraries, internet services, and moral support,
meanwhile the barrier factors is the lack of funds, there is no special room, discipline,
and the dependency on the supervisor. (5) The impact of extracurricular activities,
for teachers: the extracurricular  supervisor became the teachers partner  in
discussing  learning materials and learning  media; for students:  enhacing their
literary knowledge and skills, giving a place to expres and to gather for learners,
giving organizational skills experience; for learning: materials deepen students,
increase the confidence,  providing  other learning resources; for schools: lift the
school's reputation in literature.
