PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN MENULIS NASKAH DRAMA SATU BABAK DENGAN TEKNIK QUANTUM WRITING SISWA KELAS VIII D SMP NEGERI 3 SEWON
Abstract
This research was aimed at describing students improvement in writing one-
stage drama script by applying quantum writing for the students of VIII D class of
SMP Negeri 3 Sewon.
This research was categorized into class action research. The subjects of this
study were 30 students of VIII D class of SMP Negeri 3 Sewon. The object of this
study was the improvement students made in writing one-stage drama script.
There were four major steps in conducting this study namely planning, acting,
observing, and reflecting. The data were then collected through observation,
interview, test, questionnaire, field note, and documentation. To analyze the data,
both qualitative and quantitative technique were applied. The success of the action
was therefore determined by the improvement of process and product.
The findings of this research revealed two major things. Firstly, the
improvement on the process aspect appeared on the students attention,
enthusiasm, active involvement in question and answer session, active
involvement in doing the tasks, and task accomplishment period. The
improvement happened periodically starting from the pre-action, cycle I, and
cycle II. Secondly, the improvement on the product aspect by using quantum
writing on writing one-stage drama script could be seen from the students writing.
On the pre-action stage, the mean score was 58.77. This meant all students have
not passed the required standard score yet. On the Cycle 1, the mean score
increased to 69.93 with 13 students reached the required score. Further, the
students’ mean score reached 78.93 in Cycle 2. This result indicated that 90% of
the students (27 students) have passed the required score.
