KEEFEKTIFAN PENDEKATAN PROSES PADA PEMBELAJARAN MENULIS TEKS EKSPOSISI SISWA KELAS X SMA NEGERI 1 CISAAT KABUPATEN SUKABUMI JAWA BARAT
Abstract
The aim of this research is to know: (1) the difference between writing
exposition text skills the group that join the study using the approaching process
and the group that join the study without the approaching process, (2) to test the
effectiveness of the usage of approaching process to writing exposition text.
This research used quantitative approach with the kind of research
apparent experiment. The research design that is used is pretest-posttest control
group. There were two variables; independent variable that is the usage of
approaching process and dependent variable that is the ability of the students to
write the exposition text. The populations of this research are class X students of
SMA Negeri 1 Cisaat, Sukabumi that consist of eight classes, with of two classes;
X IPS 1 class and X IPS 2 class. The sample is determined by random cluster
sampling technique. Data collection techniques that used in this study is the test
method, which is test text exposition. The validity of the instrument is using
content validity (expert judgment). Data analysis techniques in this study using t-
test.
The results showed that there were differences in the ability of writing
exposition text in the experimental group using a process approach and in the
control group without using a process approach. The differences is shown by the
t-test calculation is performed at the end of the test scores between the control
group and the experimental group with SPSS 16.0. The results of the t-test score
of final test the control and experimental group showed ttable -4657 with 82 df and
p 0.000. P scores are less than the significance level of 5%. Moreover, the results
also showed that the use of a process approach is effective in teaching writing text
exposition, evidenced by the t-test. Calculation of the t-test on the initial test and
final test experimental group obtained ttable -6.304 with df 41 and obtained p value
of 0.000. The p-value less than the significance level of 5% and there is an
increase in the experimental group average score is 3.59, which is higher than the
increase in average score of 0.21 in the control group.
