KEEFEKTIFAN METODE PENCOCOKAN KARTU INDEKS DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MEMAHAMI TEKS CERPEN PADA SISWA KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 1 SAMIGALUH KULONPROGO YOGYAKARTA

Abstract


This research purpose to (1) knowing the significance difference of ability
reading  short stories  text between students who got learning using  Index Card
Match method with students who got learning without using  Index Card Match
method  at VII grade students of SMP Negeri 1  Samigaluh Kulonprogo
Yogyakarta and (2) test the effectiveness of Index Card Match method on reading
short stories  text at VII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Samigaluh Kulonprogo
Yogyakarta.
  This research is  an experimental research design with pretest posttest
control group design. The variable in this research are independent variable which
is Index Card Match method and dependent variable that is the ability of reading
short stories text. Technique sampling which is used are cluster random sampling
technique that  is cluster random sampling. The population in this research  is VII
A class as experiment group and VII B class as control group. The data collection
technique which is used in this research are  test. The instruments of data
collection are objective test multiple choice and questionnare. The instruments of
validity test are content validity. The instrument’s reliability is counted refers to
Alpha Cronbach grade. Technique of data analysis is used t-test with significance
level 0,05.
  Based on the result of this research, can be drawn conclusion that are: (1)
there are significance difference on the ability reading  short stories  text between
students who got learning using Index Card Match method with students who got
learning without using  Index Card Match method at VII grade students of SMP
Negeri 1  Samigaluh Kulonprogo Yogyakarta.  The case can be proven by the
calculating result t-test of posttest control group and experiment group got     >
ttabel  (5,643 > 1,99)  and p < 5% (0,000 < 0,050).  Index Card Match method are
effective for learning reading  short stories  text at VII grade students of SMP
Negeri 1 Samigaluh Kulonprogo Yogyakarta. This can be shown from calculation
result t-test pretest and posttest experiment group, got    >  ttabel  (10,981 > 2,039)
and p < 5% (0,000 < 0,050). Also the result of this research got rise average grade
control group as much as  0,73 whereas rise average grade experiment group as
much as 15,52.
