PENGEMBANGAN MODUL IPS SMP KELAS VIII SEMESTER 1 DENGAN TEMA KEUNGGULAN LOKASI DAN KEHIDUPAN MASYARAKAT INDONESIA

Abstract


This study was based on the limited lesson hours of Social studies in junior high school so that teaching materials in the form of module that can be learned individually by students was needed. This study aimed to: 1) determine the feasibility of the module to be used as teaching materials, 2) determine the responses of teachers and students of the module as teaching materials. This study is a Research and Development (R & D). Instruments for data collection were in the forms of a questionnaire/validation sheet for validators and assessment questionnaire for teachers’ and students ’responses. The questionnaires contained list of questions prepared in Likert scale, in which each item statement was worth from 1 (very poor) to 5 (very good). Data analysis techniques in this study used a descriptive analysis with quantitative approach. The results show that: 1) the module is appropriate to be used as teaching materials as determined from design validation by content expert and media expert, with the average score of 4.08 by a content expert (categorized as "good") and 4.38 by a media expert with (categorized as "very good"); 2) users’ response to the module obtained the average score of 4.20 by the teachers (categorized as "good") and 4.38 by the students (categorized as "very good").
