Abstract

This research aim is to determine the application of learning model STAD in increasing participation and student learning outcomes, in operating system subject at SMK 2 Kuripan. This research is class action which apply to design model STAD Kemmis and Mc Taggart. In this research consist of four phases namely : planning, implementation, reflection, and observation. This research subject is class X TKJ totaling 29 people. It is done in two cycles which had twice meeting and each of the cycles is done in the final test of learning. Data collection
techniques in this study using observation sheet student’s participation, learning test and documentation. Method test data analysis using qualitative and description analysis method. The result show that the application of learning model STAD can increase participation and learning outcomes in grade X TKJ 2 on the subject of operating system in SMKN 2 Kuripan. It can be seen from the increase in the average percentage of student participation in each cycles. In pre-cycles average percentage of student amount to 33.80%, then increase in cycles 1 to 54,13% increase again in cycles 2 to 74.96%. The improving student learning outcomes can be seen with the increase in percentage of students learning completeness in pre-cycles students learning outcome by 41% and then increase in cycles 1 to 55.25% and increase again to 82.75% in cycles 2.
Key Words : STAD learning model, students participation, students learning outcomes, and operating system.
