Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerimaan diri positif anak tunanetra di SLB Negeri 1 Bantul. Penelitian difokuskan pada: 1) tahap penerimaan diri 2) faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi proses penerimaan diri, dan 3) peran lingkungan dalam proses penerimaan diri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Subjek penelitian yaitu anak tunanetra yang memiliki penerimaan diri positif dan tiga key informan yaitu ibu, paman, dan guru kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif-kualitatif. Hasil penelitian proses penerimaan diri anak tunanetra menunjukkan 1)tahap-tahap penerimaan diri meliputi penolakan terhadap kondisi ketunanetraan, marah padadiri sendiri, tawar-menawar, depresi, dan menerima kondisi ketunanetraan. 2) faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi, yaitu pemahaman diri, harapan yang realistis, tidak ada hambatan lingkungan, sikap sosial yang menyenangkan, tidak ada tekanan yang berat, sering berprestasi dalam kejuaraan, perspektif diri, pola asuh masa kecil dan konsep diri yang stabil. 3) peran lingkungan dalam proses penerimaan diri meliputi peran lingkungan keluarga, sekolah, dan sekitar tempat tinggal.

Abstract
This study aims to describe positive self-acceptance of a blind student in SLB Negeri 1 Bantul. This study focuses on: 1) the stages of self-acceptance; 2) the factors that affect self-aceeptance process; and 3) the role of the environment in the blind child self-acceptance process. The type of this study is descriptive research. The research subject was a blind child with positive self-acceptance and three key informants were mother, uncle, and the class teacher of the subject of study. The data were collected by interview and documentation and analized using descriptive-qualitative analysis. The result of this study the blind child self-acceptance process shows: 1) the stages of self-acceptance including denial his condition, anger with himself, bargaining, depression, and acceptance his condition. 2) Moreover, this study also finds the factors that affect self-acceptance process which are self-understanding, realistic expectation, absence of environmental obstacle, favorable social attitudes, absence of severe emotional stress, preponderance of successes, self-perspective, good childhood training, and stable self-concept. 3) Furthermore the role of the environment in the blind child self-acceptance process includes the role of the family environment, the school, and the neighborhood.
