PENINGKATAN PRONUNCIATION SKILL KOSAKATA BAHASA INGGRIS MENGGUNAKAN MEDIA FLASH VIDEO PADA SISWA KELAS IIB

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pronunciation skill kosakata Bahasa Inggris melalui penggunaan media flash video pada siswa kelas IIB SD Negeri Golo Yogyakarta. Metode pengumpulan data adalah observasi, tes, dan catatan lapangan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif dan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pronunciation skill kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas IIB SD Negeri Golo Yogyakarta setelah penggunaan media flash video. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan oleh presentase siswa yang telah mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal dalam tes unjuk kerja pada pra siklus sebanyak 31,03%, meningkat di Siklus 1 menjadi 65,51%, dan meningkat lagi di Siklus 2 menjadi 75,86%. Hasil tersebut didukung oleh hasil observasi yang merekam ketertarikan, keaktifan, dan pemahaman siswa di siklus 1 sebesar 76,56% meningkat di siklus 2 menjadi 78,90%. Keempat aspek pronunciation siswa, yaitu  fluency (kelancaran), accuracy (ketepatan), intonation (intonasi), dan stressing (penekanan) meningkat setelah 2 siklus tindakan.

Abstract

This research aims to improve English vocabulary pronunciation skill of class IIB in SD Negeri Golo Yogyakarta through the use of flash video. The data collecting methods were observation, test, and field note. The data analytic techniques were quantitative descriptive and qualitative descriptive. The research’s result shows that there is an improvement in class IIB’s English vocabulary pronunciation skill using flash video. It is proven by the percentage of the students who surpassed the minimum passing criteria in performance test which was 31,03% in pre cycle increased to 65,51% in cycle 1 and increased again to 75,86% in cycle 2. The result is supported by the observation’s result that recorded the students’ interest, liveliness, and understanding, which was 76,56% in cycle 1 increased to 78,90% in cycle 2. The four aspects of pronunciation that are fluency, accuracy, intonation, and stressing were increasing throughout the learning process in 2 cycles.
