HUBUNGAN MINAT MEMBACA TERHADAP PRESTASI BELAJAR IPS

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara minat membaca terhadap prestasi belajar IPS pada siswa kelas V SD.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD dengan jumlah 185siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampling kuotadengan jumlah sampel 125 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan angket, dan studi dokumenter. Uji validitas instrumen menggunakan korelasi Product Moment dan uji realibilitas instrumen menggunakan rumus Cronbach Alpha.Uji prasyarat analisis terdiri dari uji normalitas dan uji linieritas.Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan teknik analisis korelasi Product Moment dari Karl Pearson.Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan harga koefisien korelasi rhitung (0,311) > rtabel (0,176) pada taraf signifikansi 5% dengan jumlah N=125. Harga koefisien korelasi tersebut mengindikasikan adanya hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara minat membaca terhadap prestasi belajar IPS pada siswa kelas V SD.

Abstract

This research aims at knowing about a positive toward significant correlations between interest in reading with social studies learning achievements of 5th grade students of elementary school.This research used quantitative approach. The kind of this research was correlational. The population in this research were 5th grade students of elementary school, totalling 185 students. Technique of sample collection used sampling quota with totalling 125 students. Technique of data collection in this research used questioner and study documentary. Instrument validity test used Product Moment correlation and instrument reliability test used Cronbach Alpha formula. The prerequisite analysis test consists of the normality test and the linearity test. Hypothesis testing used product moment correlation analysis technique from Karl Pearson. The results of the hypotheses test showthe price of a correlation coefficient r value (0,311) > r table (0,176) at significance 5 % with totally N = 125. The price of a correlation coefficient indicate the positive and significant correlation between interest in reading with IPS learning achievements of 5th grade students of elementary school.
