PENINGKATAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP IPS MELALUI PENERAPAN METODE ACTIVE LEARNING TIPE INDEX CARD MATCH

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep IPS melalui penerapan metode pembelajaran Active Learning tipe Index Card Match pada siswa Kelas VA SD Ngoto tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Subjek penelitian adalah 33 siswa kelas VA SD Ngoto. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan dokumentasi. Validitas instrumen oleh dosen pembimbing sebagai expert judgment. Teknik analisis data menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Desain penelitian menggunakan model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama dua siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman konsep IPS siswa ditandai dengan hasil belajar yang meningkat dari hasil pre test, siklus I, dan siklus II. Ketuntasan belajar pemahaman konsep IPS pada saat pre test masih rendah yaitu di bawah kriteria keberhasilan penelitian. Pada siklus I terjadi peningkatan dari hasil pre test namun masih kurang dari kriteria keberhasilan penelitian. Pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan dan sudah memenuhi kriteria keberhasilan penelitian yaitu ≥75%.

Abstract

The research aims at knowing the fifth grade students’ improvement of social studies concept comprehension through Active Learning method Index Card Match type of SD Ngoto. The type of the research was a Classroom Action Research. The subjects were 33 students of SD Ngoto. The data were collected through tests and documentation. The instruments were validated by the advisor as the expert judgment. The data analysis was done by using quantitative descriptive techniques. The research design used was Kemmis & Mc. Taggart method. The research was done in two cycles. The result of the research shows the improvement of the students’ social studies concept comprehension which is shown by the improvement of learning result from the pre test, first Cycle, then second Cycle. The pre test result is still low and it does not match with the research goal which is below the success criteria of the research. There is improvement in first Cycle which is higher than the pre test result but it is still low and below the success criteria of the research. In the second Cycle, there is improvement and the result has already reached the success criteria of the research which is ≥75%.
