UPAYA MENINGKATKAN MINAT BELAJAR IPS MELALUI STRATEGI PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE PADA SISWA KELAS V

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat belajar IPS pada siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar Negeri Bondalem melalui penerapan strategi pembelajaran berbasis Multiple Intelligence. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan secara kolaboratif dengan guru kelas V Sekolah Dasar Negeri Bondalem. Desain penelitian menggunakan model Kemmis dan McTaggart yang meliputi 4 tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar Negeri Bondalem yaitu 8 siswa laki-laki dan 19 siswa perempuan. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan skala sikap. Lembar observasi digunakan untuk mengamati aktivitas pembelajaran IPS yang dilakukan oleh guru. Pedoman wawancara bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana guru mengenal inteligensi ganda yang dimiliki siswa. Skala sikap digunakan untuk mengukur minat belajar IPS pada siswa. Validasi instrumen dilakukan melalui expert judgement dan uji validitas isi. Data kuantitatif dianalisis secara deskripstif kuantitatif sedangkan data kualitatif dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minat belajar IPS pada siswa mengalami peningkatan. Rata-rata nilai skala minat dari 27 siswa pada siklus I adalah 7,2 dengan persentase sebesar 55,6% dan siklus II adalah 8,0 dengan persentase 85,2%. Peningkatan rata-rata minat dari pra tindakan ke siklus I sebesar 0,7 dan siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 0,8.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the interest on social science learning in 5th grade students of Bondalem State Elementary School through the implementation learning strategy of Multiple Intelligence. The type of this research was Classroom Action Research (PTK) which was done collaboratively with 5th grade teacher of Bondalem State Elementary School. Design research used Kemmis and McTaggart model which includes 4 stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research were teachers and 5th grade students of Bondalem State Elementary School consist of eight male students and nineteen female students. The methods of collecting data used observation, interview, and attitude scale. The observation sheet was used to observe the social learning activities conducted by the teacher. Interview guide aims to find out the extent to which teachers recognize the dual intelligence that students have. Attitude scale was used to measure interest on social learning students. Instrument validation was done through expert judgment and content validity test. The quantitative data was analyzed by descriptive quantitatively meanwhile qualitative data was analyzed by descriptive qualitatively. The results showed that the interest on social learning in students get increase. The average score of interest from 27 students in cycle I was 7.2 with the percentage of 55.6% and cycle II was 7.6 with 81.5% percentage. The average increase in pre-action to cycle I was 0.7 and cycle I to cycle II was 0.8.
