PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN MENYIMAK CERITA PENDEK MENGGUNAKAN MEDIA VCD FILM KARTUN PADA SISWA KELAS V SD NEGERI 1 PEGANDEKAN

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak cerita pendek dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia pada siswa kelas V di SD Negeri 1 Pegandekan menggunakan media VCD film kartun. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Tahapan-tahapan yang dilakukan meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan dan observasi, serta refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas V SD Negeri 1 Pegandekan yang berjumlah 26 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar, pengamatan (observasi), dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif untuk menganalisis hasil tes belajar dan deskriptif kualitatif untuk menganalisis hasil observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa dengan menggunakan media VCD film kartun dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak cerita pendek siswa kelas V SD Negeri 1 Pegandekan. Hal ini ditunjukan berdasarkan peningkatan nilai rata-rata menyimak cerita pendek siswa pada pra siklus, siklus I, siklus II, dan siklus III. Peningkatan yang terjadi yaitu, (1) nilai rata-rata evaluasi  pra siklus siswa sebesar 57,31; (2) nilai rata-rata evaluasi siklus I meningkat 12,20 menjadi 69,51; (3) nilai rata-rata evaluasi siklus II meningkat 14,63 menjadi 84,14; dan (4) nilai rata-rata evaluasi siklus III meningkat 0,39 menjadi 84,53.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve the short story listening skills in the Indonesia language learning for grade V students of SD Negeri 1 Pegandekan VCD through media cartoon movie VCD media. This was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) employing the model by Kemmis and Mc Taggart. The conducted Stages include planning, action implementation and observation, and reflection. The study was conducted in three cycles. Cycle I consisted of three meetings, Cycle II three meetings, and Cycle III one meeting. The data were collected thought learning achievement tests, observations, and documentation. The data data analysis techniques were the quantitative descriptive technique to analyze the results of the learning achievement tests and the qualitative descriptive technique to analyze the results of the observations. The results of the study showed that the use of cartoon movie VCD media was capable of improving the short story listening skills of grade V students of SD Negeri 1 Pegandekan. This was indicated by the improvements of the students’ mean scores of the short story listening skill from the pre- cycle to Cycle I, II, and III. The improvement showed that: (1) the students’ mean score in the pre-cycle was 57,31; (2) the mean score in the cycle I improved by 12,20 to 69,51; (3) the mean score in the cycle II improved by 14,63 to 84,14; and (4) the mean score in cycle III improved by 0,39 to 84,53.
