Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran quantum learning terhadap pemahaman konsep IPS kelas V. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian quasi experiment. Populasi adalah seluruh siswa kelas V SD di Gugus Danurejan. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling.Sampel penelitian ini adalah SD N Tegalpanggung dan SD N Widoro. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah soal tes pilihan ganda. Validitas instrumen dihitung dengan program computer SPSS 16.0. Penelitian ini menggunakan data pretest dan posttest dengan analisis uji hipotesis t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model quantum learning dengan menggunakan strategi TANDUR (Tumbuhkan, Alami, Namai, Demonstrasikan, Ulangi, dan Rayakan) dapat memengaruhi pemahaman konsep siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS kelas V SD di Gugus Danurejan. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan adanya uji t-test dan perubahan nilai rata-rata kelas. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukan signifikansi 0,035<0,05. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan terdapat perbedaan pemahaman konsep IPS antara siswa yang diajar dengan model quantum learning dan siswa yang diajar dengan metode ceramah.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the effect of the quantum learning model on the understanding of Social Studies concepts in Grade V. This was a quasi-experimental study. The research population comprised all students of Grade V of the elementary schools in Danurejan Cluster. The sample was selected by means of the simple random sampling technique. It consisted of SDN Tegalpanggung and SDN Widoro. The instrument was a multiple choice test. The instrument validity was assessed by the SPSS 16.0 computer program. The study used the pretest and posttest data and the hypothesis testing using the t-test. The results of the study showed that the application of the quantum learning model using the TANDUR (Tumbuhkan, Alami, Namai, Demonstrasikan, Ulangi, dan Rayakan = Grow, Experience, Name, Demonstrate, Repeat, and Celebrate) strategy was capable of affecting the students’ understanding of concepts in the Social Studies subject in Grade V of the elementary schools in Danurejan Cluster. This was indicated by the results of the t-test and the change in the class mean score. The result of the hypothesis testing showed a significance value of 0.035<0.05.  Therefore, it was concluded that there was a difference in the understanding of Social Studies concepts between the students learning through the quantum learning model and those learning through the lecturing method.
