PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN METODE TALKING STICK TERHADAP PENGUASAAN KOSAKATA BAHASA INGGRIS

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan metode Talking Stick terhadap penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas V SD Negeri Gedongkiwo. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasy experiment dengan bentuk nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 41 siswa kelas V. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan metode Talking Stick terhadap penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas V. Nilai rata-rata hasil post-test penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa kelompok eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelompok kontrol. Kelompok eksperimen memiliki nilai rata-rata sebesar 82,50, sedangkan kelompok kontrol memiliki nilai rata-rata sebesar 68,19. Hasil perhitungan uji-t diperoleh nilai t sebesar 3,511 dan sig 0,001. Nilai sig 0,001 < 0,05, artinya bahwa Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, artinya bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang penggunaan metode Talking Stick Negeri Gedongkiwo pada siswa kelas V.

Abstract

This research aims to know the effect of Talking Stick method towards the vocabulary acquisition of English in the fifth grade students of SD Negeri Gedongkiwo. This research was a quasy experiment design with nonequivalent control group design. The population was 41 fifth graders. Data collection techniques in this research using a test instrument. Analysis of the data using t-test. The result shows that there post-test score vocabulary acquisition of English the experiment group had an average value higher than the control group. The experiment group had an average value of 82,50, while the control group had an average value of 68,19. The calculation of t-test with t value 3,511 and sig 0,001. Sig 0,001 < 0,05, it means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. In conclution, there is an effect of Talking Stick method to the vocabulary acquisition of English in the fifth grade students.
